Voltage & Fan;
default := depending on your motherboard
This will show the chip MBM is using to readout your voltages and fan's
Sensor 1, 2 and 3;
default := none;
Here you can select what sensor should be checked for temperature, you can select:
- Winbond 1 - if you have 1 of the 3 Winbond chips (W83781D, W83782D or W83783S) then this will show you (most of the time) the case temperature
- Winbond 1 P2 thermal diode - if you have 1 of the 3 Winbond chips (W83781D, W83782D or W83783S) and your P2/P3 chips has a therminal diode and your motherboard supports this and the diode is connected to this sensor of your chip then this will show you the CPU temperature1
- Winbond 2 - if you have 1 of the 3 Winbond chips (W83781D, W83782D or W83783S) and you have a sensor attached to this connection then it will show that temperature. Some motherboard comes with a sensor attached, some don't.
- Winbond 2 P2 thermal diode - if you have 1 of the 3 Winbond chips (W83781D, W83782D or W83783S) and your P2/P3 chips has a therminal diode and your motherboard supports this and the diode is connected to this sensor of your chip then this will show you the CPU temperature
- Winbond 3 - if you have 1 of the 3 Winbond chips (W83781D, W83782D or W83783S) and you have a sensor attached to this connection then it will show that temperature. Some motherboard comes with a sensor attached, some don't.
- Winbond 3 P2 thermal diode - if you have 1 of the 3 Winbond chips (W83781D, W83782D or W83783S) and your P2/P3 chips has a therminal diode and your motherboard supports this and the diode is connected to this sensor of your chip then this will show you the CPU temperature
- LM78 - if you have an LM78 or LM78-j installed on your board this will show you (most of the time) the case temperature
- LM79 - if you have an LM79 installed on your board this will show you (most of the time) the case temperature.
- LM75 - if MBM finds the intel SMBus then you have the option to select 1 of the 8 possible LM75's. If your board has an LM75 and you select the correct one it will (most of the time) show you your CPU temperature.
- FanTemp via Fan x - if you have this little device made by Bruce Fishbein then select this option. This little device will change 1 of your Fan ports into a temperature port. Make sure have the device connected and it is in calibration mode before you select this sensor
- GL518SM - if you have an GL518SM installed on your board this will show you it's temperature readout
- GL520SM 1 - if you have an GL520SM install on your board this will show you the temperature of it's 1st sensor
- GL520SM 2 - if you have an GL520SM install on your board this will show you the temperature of it's 2nd sensor
Please examine the compatibility section if you are not sure what to select for your board.
Check temperature, voltage and fan readout every X seconds;
default := 5 seconds;
Using the up and down arrows will determine the interval that the program uses to check the all the chips on your motherboard. Anything lower than 5 seconds is not recommended. The value selected here will impact the ignore Fan Alarm X seconds on the Fan Tab
Prefrences
Run MBM on Windows Startup;
default := UnChecked;
Checking this will adjust the Windows Registry in such a way that when you bootup windows it will try to locate and launch Motherboard Monitor.
When you check this, the program will show you the Path and File name it will place in the Registry. Moving the program to another place on your hard drive will result in a failure of Windows trying to locate and launch the program.
Startup MBM in System Tray;
default := Checked;
Checking this will make Motherboard Monitor startup straight in the system tray. Un-Checking this will make the program start up in Show small mode.
Enable Exit Question;
default := Checked;
Checking this will make Motherboard Monitor ask you if you really want to Close the program when you press Close in the popup menu.
Show Splash Screen at Start-up;
default := Checked;
Uncheck this to no longer see the splash screen.
Tab on top at startup;
default := General;
With this pull down box you can determine the tab you want to have on top when you start Motherboard Monitor. This will take effect the next time you start the program.
Visible Tabs;
default := ;
In this drop down list you can select which tabs you want to see.There are a few tabs you can not change:
- General Tab, this will always be checked
- CPUIdle, under NT this will always be unchecked since CPUIlde will not run under NT
- Resources, under NT this will always be unchecked since this tab will not function under NT
PC Speaker Freq;
default := 500;
With this slider you can select the frequency used by the PC Speaker Alarm. Click on the Speaker to hear the current frequency.
Use ; in CSV File;
default := ;
The symbol you enter here will be used in the CSV file, it depends a bit on how your Excel is setup, for some it is the ; for other it might be a ,
Options
Show Temperature in;
default := Celcius
Select either Celcius or Fahrenheit.
Round Fahrenheit off;
default := Checked
Uncheck this is you don't want the Fahrenheit reading to be rounded off. If you do this then the readout might not look -as it should- in the system tray since there is not much room there.
Allow negative values;
default := UnChecked
If you check this then any negative value the chip might produce will be displayed, this is only of use to a few people.
Show VUMeters vertical in Show small view;
default := Checked;
Uncheck will make the VUMeters show horizontal in the Show Small window.
Show VUMeters as Digital meters;
default := UnChecked;
Checking this will make the VUMeters turn into Digital meters.
Place log option in popup menu;
default := UnChecked;
Check this if you want to 4 log option (Start, Stop, View and Delete) in the popup menu..
Use degree symbol in window
default := Checked;
Uncheck this will remove the degree symbol in the VUMeters and Option tabs.
Repeat Alarm Waves;
default := UnChecked;
Check this if you want to loop any of the alarm waves you selected
Remove MBM from the registry for a clean start
default := ;
Pressing this button will erase MBM from the registry and close it. It might be usefull if you have some anomality.
